Event Details

2022 was a challenging year for businesses operating in China. Unexpected lockdowns caused by COVID-19 outbreaks, weak consumption trends, a struggling property sector, and newfound geopolitical tensions caused supply chains disruptions and affected the global business confidence in China.

In 2023, the China government proposes a number of measures to ease the zero-COVID policy and to boost the economy.

Foreign investors are keen to understand the current changes happening in China's business landscape and anticipate areas of risk in advance and take steps to prepare for the new opportunities.

Angela is the Founder and Executive Director of the Latin American Chamber of Commerce in Singapore (LatAmCham). She is an expert in economic diplomacy fostering business and investment relations between Latin America and Southeast Asia, using Singapore as a hub to access the region.

Prior to founding LatAmCham, Angela worked in several banks as a lawyer advising credit derivatives structures and application of Basel rules while saving bank's capital consumption. Her experience in banking started in Corfinsura (today Bancolombia, Colombia), Société Générale (Paris), Nordea Bank (Denmark, Singapore).

Angela has a law degree from Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana, Medellin Colombia, Master in Business Law from Universidad Externado de Colombia, and Master in Financial Law from University Paris XI in conjunction with ESCP Paris.

Graham is the Senior Partner Manager for ASEAN at G-P, looking after commercial alliances for the world’s leading Employer of Record firm. In his role, he supports start-ups in APAC looking to expand rapidly overseas.

Graham has a diversified background across HR, Law and IT. After graduating from law school in Monash University, he became an executive recruiter with Hudson APAC in 2018. He recruited for IT client accounts across APAC (including post-Series A scale-ups and Fortune 500 firms), before rising to management in Hudson Singapore within his first year of joining the firm. In 2020, he returned to school, and trained in Data Science & Machine Learning at an intensive bootcamp with General Assembly. He joined G-P in the same year as Partner Manager, was promoted to Senior Partner Manager in 2022. In 2021, he also re-trained himself as a Full-Stack Software Engineer after attending a year of intensive training under Rocket Academy, and founded AI Thaumaturgy, a software consultancy, where he helps start-ups build enterprise software.

Fabio graduated in International Law, business and politics before moving to China in 2012 for a course on intellectual property (IP) and foreign direct investment at Peking University. He started his career at the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce where he also acted as Board Director for two terms between 2017 and 2020. Part of Hawksford pool of professionals since 2013, Fabio now heads China's Business Development activities while acting as financial responsible person and company supervisor for several Chinese subsidiaries of global retail clients.
